Bob Levitus aka Dr. Mac in an article published on 7/29/08 in the Houston Chronicle says the quality of the audio in the iPhone 3G along with the connect speed offsets the other 3G faults. He indicates he must return the test iPhone Apple had provided him but before he does, he will purchase one for his one use and give his old iPhone to his wife. He rates the quality of audio as “Superior” as well as having higher sound level, the original iPhone audio level frequently caused him to miss calls simply because he couldn’t hear the ringtone. His complaints with the new one include the short battery life, frequently running dead before noon as compared to all day with the original iPhone.
